Ocean Server Upgrade April 3rd, 2025 Release Notes

The Ocean server upgrade scheduled for the evening of April 3, 2025 contains the following improvements and fixes.

Ocean will be intermittently unavailable between 10:00 - 11:00 PM EST while the upgrade is being deployed. To view all scheduled Ocean server upgrade dates, check out the Ocean Server Upgrade Schedule.

Provider Network

Improvements

  • A new, modern Directory Listings user interface (UI) for Admin users to add, manage, and configure their Ocean site's Directory Listing(s).
    • New show/hide logic for various settings on the page based on the 'Listing Purpose'.
    • Updated searchable dropdown components.
    • Two new Listing Types to support 'eSubmission' and 'Lab eOrder' workflows (must be configured by OceanMD admin).
    • New concept of an "eRequest Term" to enable recipients to update the copy of the “Send” button, email notifications and other aspects of the send flow.
    • Individual versus group information can now be clearly indicated on listings.
    • Health Service Offering settings can now be easily configured in their own tab, with simplified ‘Yes/No’ options for accepting the various eRequest types.
    • New status display in the top right of the listing configuration page to indicate if the listing is live and accepting eRequests or in 'Test Mode'.
    • 'Tags' and 'Online booking URL' settings removed from the listing settings.

Fixed Bugs

  • Resolved an image sizing issue that caused marks on a Markable Diagram to appear distorted when a referral was created.
  • Applied the correct FHIR Identifier code set system value for physicians and nurses in British Columbia.
  • Fixed a bug where a saved filter list using "all" filter criteria were not automatically updating when a new clinician was added to the site.
  • A faulty clinic admin email will no longer stop Webhook failure processing for integrations – we'll still log the referral event and update the integration status.

Patient Engagement

Improvements

  • Patients can now clear all messages in their Health Messenger thread easily from the action menu.
  • A Spanish language bundle has been added to the Health Messenger.

Fixed Bugs

  • Online Booking links are no longer blocked when Safari’s Advanced Tracking/Finger Printing is enabled.
  • Improved error handling when an appointment fails to refresh during a confirmation check.
  • Resolved bug causing the HN Eligibility field to be updated with values from risk factor EMR fields in PSS.
  • Improvements made to reduce the likelihood of DWR CSRF errors on the Health Messenger verification page.

Platform

Improvements

  • Updated the HST rate for Nova Scotia as of April 1, 2025 to 14%.
