Ocean Server Upgrade October 1st, 2026 Release Notes

The Ocean server upgrade scheduled for the evening of October 1st, 2026 contains the following improvements and fixes.

Provider Network

Improvements

  • Introduced a configuration option to increase the number of referral results shown in referral folders from 20 to 100, making it easier for high-volume clinics to review more referrals without relying on pagination.
  • Updated the integration registration screen so eReferral integrators select payload versions from a dropdown, with clearer guidance when older or less-preferred options are selected.
  • Updated the eConsult disclaimer copy shown on the directory listing set up page so that users accepting eConsults in Ontario understand funding options.
  • Improved BC Lab eOrder workflows so returned requisition PDFs no longer create a Needs Review notice when Ocean has already recorded that the requisition was printed.
  • Improved bilingual Healthmap referral workflows so patient context is preserved when users switch between English and French.
  • Updated French directory listing drop-downs in the Production environment so configuration drop downs display values in the selected language.

Fixed Bugs

  • Fixed the eSubmission individual view so recipient address line 2 appears when it is populated.
  • Resolved an issue with importing a referral to the EMR via the Action Menu so it works correctly for patient charts that were originally created through EMR Notifications.
  • Fixed Ocean Healthmap Site Notes so notes remain associated with the Ocean site where they were created instead of moving when edited from another site context.
  • Resolved an EMR-user permission error that occurred when Support Site users accessed directory listings on supported sites.

Patient Engagement

Improvements

  • Updated the minimum supported tablet version and time zone data so BC and Alberta daylight-saving calculations remain accurate.
  • Updated Health Messenger so clinics can display their organization logo on the patient verification page, improving patient recognition and trust.

Fixed Bugs

  • Resolved an issue with kiosk walk-in workflows so relaunching tablet activity does not create duplicate appointments.
  • Fixed tablet and kiosk eForms so mandatory multi-select menu buttons remain correctly sized and readable after validation errors appear.

Platform

Fixed Bugs

  • Fixed TELUS progress-note uploads so disallowed HTML characters do not cause note upload failures.
