Ocean Server Upgrade July 30th, 2026 Release Notes

The Ocean server upgrade scheduled for the evening of July 30th, 2026 contains the following improvements and fixes.

Ocean will be intermittently unavailable between 10:00 - 11:00 PM EST while the upgrade is being deployed. To view all scheduled Ocean server upgrade dates, check out the Ocean Server Upgrade Schedule.

Provider Network

Improvements

  • Early access feature: Enhanced referral privacy controls option for multi-clinic/provider sites. When enabled, users must apply a clinician or listing filter before viewing referral inbox results, while designated Privileged Viewers can continue to view all referrals. New audit events help sites track referral folder views and filter usage.
  • Early access feature: Private referral messaging for multi-clinic referral management sites. Eligible users can mark appropriate referral messages as private, while new messages remain public by default. Private message content and attachments are hidden from non-participating sites and excluded from generated PDFs/referral packages, FHIR payloads, EMR notifications and outbound APIs.
  • Responsible Provider (MRP) reassignment early access feature now supports expanded MRP roles and includes both the original referrer and current MRP within analytics exports.
  • eSubmission listings displayed on the Ocean HealthMap no longer include health service category details within service offering descriptions.
  • Improved bilingual support on the Ocean HealthMap so health service category searches with or without French accents return matching results.

Fixed Bugs

  • Improved referral inbox count discrepancies, including discrepancies related to selected listing filters.
  • Resolved an issue with Ocean Healthmap navigation so users now return to the expected Ocean Portal page after selecting Home.
  • Improved referral deletion permissions so users cannot permanently delete referrals unless they have the required authorization.
  • Eliminated a misleading “Leave?” popup that appeared after launching Caredove eReferral submissions.

Patient Engagement

Improvements

  • Added new reporting fields to the Website Forms export, including state-change dates, postal code, and priority.
  • "Bill only" appointments are now excluded from the appointments Ocean pulls from Accuro EMRs.
  • Added a configuration option for sites to receive email notifications when a patient cancels an appointment through Patient Reminders or Online Appointment Booking.
  • Patients are now directed to a friendly invalid-link page when attempting to access an Online Appointment Booking link that has been deleted.

Fixed Bugs

  • Fixed an issue where appointments cancelled through Patient Reminders were not correctly marked as cancelled in Online Appointment Booking.
  • Resolved an issue where EMR charts with an alternate ID were not being updated after patients submitted a Website Form.
  • Resolved issues impacting the functionality of the Patient Messaging eForm browser when the user attempted to open the eForm browser dialogue multiple times.

Platform

Improvements

  • Deactivated Ocean user accounts that have been inactive for one year or more.

Fixed Bugs

  • Fixed OSCAR toolbar setup so users with two-factor authentication enabled can complete initial configuration.
  • Resolved issues with repeated pop-ups in two-factor authentication and password verification workflows so prompts can be submitted without requiring a page refresh.
