Sending an eFax Request

  • Select your eFax recipient following the standard workflow steps found in the Select an eReferral Recipient support article.

    Note that eFax listings will display a ‘Send eReferral via eFax’ button as well as a disclaimer message stating ‘This listing does not update the eRequest status in Ocean. Contact the listing directly as needed for follow-up.’ to inform the sender that the referral is excluded from the regular eReferral notification process.

  • Complete the referral form and send your eReferral following the standard workflow steps found in the Send Your eReferral support article.

    Note that eFax listings will display a ‘Send eReferral via eFax’ button when submitting the referral.

  • Note that the confirmation window includes a disclaimer ‘This listing does not update the referral via eFax status in Ocean. Contact the listing directly as needed for follow-up.'

Note

eFax requests are externally managed. Once the referral has been successfully delivered to the recipient site’s fax server, it is no longer updated within Ocean.

Any actions taken on the referral after this by the sending site (e.g. cancelling the referral, sending a message in the Messaging pane) will not be received by the recipient site.
