Can I limit the amount of time a patient has to respond to a Secure Message?

  • Yes. When you enable the 'Allow patient to reply' or 'Allow patient to send attachments' setting for your secure message, you can limit the amount of time a patient has to reply using the 'Reply window' setting.
  • This setting can be used on an as-needed basis at the time of sending a message, and/or it can be saved as part of your messaging template.
  • When the patient accesses the secure message, the response window deadline is visible to the them within the respective message.
  • After the response window deadline passes, the patient will be unable to respond and the message will be updated to indicate that the response window has expired (including the date of the expiry).
