Ocean Server Upgrade June 5th, 2025 Release Notes

The Ocean server upgrade scheduled for the evening of June 5th, 2025 contains the following improvements and fixes.

Ocean will be intermittently unavailable between 10:00 - 11:00 PM EST while the upgrade is being deployed. To view all scheduled Ocean server upgrade dates, check out the Ocean Server Upgrade Schedule.

Provider Network

Improvements

  • ‘archiveDate’ added to the core referral analytics to capture when the referral is archived and no longer accessible within the Ocean site.
  • ‘Kinesiology’ added as a Health Service Category.
  • Added a new flag to Directory Listings in the Ocean Healthmap to indicate which Regional Authority Program they are approved under, if applicable.
  • Directory Listings under Regional Authority programs that support ‘User Site Validation’ can now include Protected Information on their listing. This information is only viewable in the Ocean Healthmap by users that belong to sites validated by that same Regional Authority.

Fixed Bugs

  • When the HSC, HSO, or referral description is coded into a referral form, these values will only automatically update if the referring clinician edits information on the form that impacts those values (rather than updating when any edit is made to the form).
  • When a new referral is launched from the ‘Patients’ page for non-integrated Ocean sites, only patient demographics will be carried over – other fields such as priority and protocol will no longer be pre-populated.
  • eRequests can once again be sent to non-validated listings in non-production environments.
  • Text strings included on Health Service Offerings are now included in the ElasticSearch query, to more reliably return the Directory Listing in the Ocean Healthmap search results.
  • Fixed a regression where the Ocean eReferral PSS form was missing eReferral information when multiple referrals were sent for the same patient the same day.

Patient Engagement

Improvements

  • Initial development work completed for a new configuration to auto-accept and import new patients from Online Bookings.
  • Providers can now set a reply window to control how long patients have to respond to secure messages.
  • Health Messenger now shows patients how long they have to respond to a message if a reply window is set by the sender.

Fixed Bugs

  • Improvements to the Health Messenger footer to ensure a seamless experience for mobile users.
  • Ensure the ‘Viewed’ EMR note for secure messages reflects the site’s correct time zone.

Platform

Improvements

  • Unassigned Patient Engagement Licences will no longer be counted under Regional Authority (RA) coverage. Additionally, specific schedules can now be excluded from coverage upon request by the RA.

Fixed Bugs

  • Resolved a CSRF token issue causing some initial Med Access contextual launches to fail.
  • Implemented additional checks on inbound API message events to ensure that changes to the referral are only made by the current RMS Target for the referral and cannot be made via API by an upstream system.
