Ocean Server Upgrade February 20th, 2025 Release Notes

The Ocean server upgrade scheduled for the evening of February 20th, 2025 contains the following improvements and fixes.

Ocean will be intermittently unavailable between 10:00 - 11:00 PM EST while the upgrade is being deployed. To view all scheduled Ocean server upgrade dates, check out the Ocean Server Upgrade Schedule.

Provider Network

Fixed Bugs

  • Regional Authority site invoices will now include tax even if the covered site has an EMR vendor contract.
  • When a listing is added to the ‘copy-to’ field of a referral, but there is no clinician information associated with that directory listing, Ocean will no longer return a Practitioner Resource as part of the resources in the FHIR bundles ‘copy-to’ extension.
  • Addressed encryption issue related to API-based forwarding of referrals.
  • Re-instated changes made in previous sprint to update the referral description on forward if the Health Service Category changed. This was in order to accomodate Central Intake workflows where the description needs to be maintained regardless of service updates to the referral.

Patient Engagement

Improvements

  • Added new columns to the ‘Secure Message Sent’ audit report to capture if the ‘allow patient to reply’, ‘allow patient to send attachment’, or ‘notify when patient viewed’ features were enabled for each message.

Fixed Bugs

  • Appointments that had their times modified will now accurately reflect the updated date and time in the patient reminder confirmation flow when a new reminder is sent.
  • The status of delivered messages is now recorded correctly for SMS logs and no longer appears as ‘queued’.
  • Re-instated change made in last sprint to update links in provider email notifications, due to unforeseen impact to EMR portal links. This will be addressed in a future sprint separating the behaviour of the email links from the EMR portal links.
