There are two ways you can upgrade a tablet to the latest version of the Ocean Tablet app.
For details on how often to upgrade your tablet, refer to When should I upgrade my tablets?
1) In the Ocean Tablet App
This method is helpful if you are only upgrading 1 or 2 tablets.
- Open the Ocean Tablet app on your tablet.

- Tap on the gear icon in the bottom left corner and enter your Ocean user credentials to access the Administration Menu.
- Select 'Update Ocean Tablet'.
- Select 'Update'. The update should only take a few minutes, but you will need to repeat the above steps for each tablet that you want to update.
2) In the Ocean Portal
This method is helpful if you are upgrading many tablets at once.
Prerequisites
You must have 'Site Admin' access in your Ocean Site.
- On your computer, log in to the Ocean Portal using a web browser.
- Open the 'Menu' and select 'Tablets & Kiosks'.
- Locate the tablet(s) that you want to upgrade. Click the device name to expand the device settings, and then select 'Upgrade'.
- Click 'Yes' to confirm that you would like to upgrade the tablet the next time it retrieves or creates a patient.
- Repeat the above steps for each tablet that you would like to upgrade.

The next time the tablet retrieves or creates a patient, an upgrade prompt will appear.
Select 'Yes' to proceed with the upgrade. The update should only take a few minutes.
