The Ocean server upgrade scheduled for the evening of October 30th, 2025 contains the following improvements and fixes.

Improvements
- Early Release of New EMR Notifications in partnership with Nova Scotia: New feature that enables Med Access and Accuro users to configure EMR Notifications for their received Ocean eRequests (specifically for cancelled eRequest and eRequest message notifications).
- Updated copy of patient email notifications for eRequest Sent and Declined notifications.
- Users accessing a Regional Authority site will now by default land on the Approvals page.
- Non-RMS Target systems can now send a HL7 FHIR communication message event to Ocean.
Fixed Bugs
- Resolved bug preventing the 'blue star' service listing location icon on the Ocean Healthmap from being repositioned when the address of the listing is updated.
- Resolved bug causing the ‘cancel’ feature to be hidden in Action menu when the referral is sent from a user that does not have the shared encryption key entered.
- Resolved bug preventing the emailing of referral deletion warnings to some sites.
- Added method to validate malformed referral attachment reference IDs submitted via an API.
Patient Engagement
Improvements
- Accuro Site Admins can now set a default service location billing code for all appointments booked online through a configuration within Cloud Connect.
Fixed Bugs
- Patient will no longer be able to cancel an appointment if the date has already passed.
- Resolved bug so that scheduled patients will not be misclassified as ‘Walk-in’ when the Ocean Tablet Walk-in Setting is enabled for Med Access.
- Ocean will now block (with a 400 “Bad Request” error code response) a patient launch from OSCAR Pro when the extPatientRef is unset.
- Updated the FHIR GET Appointment query for FHIR Patient Reminders to use the Schedule resource ID instead of the Practitioner resource ID.
Platform
Improvements
- Backend refactors to the listing claim flow to increase claim data security.
- Updated the copy for SMS pricing on Reminder Rule page.
Fixed Bugs
- An unclaimed directory listing that is saved by a Trusted Directory User or CMD Admin in order to approve any changes to the listing will no longer appear as ‘Needs Review’.
- Ocean will now send a 400 error response (“Bad Request”) and permanently fail the EMR Action when vital encryption data is missing from the triggered API event.
