Please be informed that Ontario Health and Amplify Care reached out to the Legally Responsible Person(s) in your organization to inform them of an update to the technology that supports eReferral. This update will support sending clinicians to have more options of where to send eReferrals.
The infrastructure that operates the PCCG has received enhancements. These changes update the services you are otherwise currently receiving from Ontario Health through the PCCG.
The PCCG has been updated by Ontario Health to permit “Electronic Data Transfer” (“eDT”) functionality – similar to eFax. eDT allows the PCCG to route referrals to electronic medical record systems that are not directly integrated with a commercial eReferral solution, as well as to hospital information systems that are not yet integrated in a manner capable of supporting electronic referrals. This enhancement minimizes paperwork exchanged between IT platforms. The eDT functionality operates by connecting fax recipients with electronic referral senders. This functionality also applies to users who were granted access to eReferral technology through Amplify Care, as referrals from those users pass through the PCCG.
