In our upcoming May 7, 2026 release, we are introducing an enhancement to how certain integration authentication credentials are handled in the Ocean Portal as part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening security and privacy.
What’s changing?
After they are saved, certain authentication values configured within integrations will no longer be visible to site Admin users in the Ocean user interface. Instead, these values will appear masked (for example, ●●●●●).
This change applies to the following values:
| Authentication Type | Authentication Value |
|---|---|
| Integrations using OAuth2 Authentication | Secret value |
| Integrations using API Key Authentication | Key value |
| Integrations using HTTP Basic Authentication | Password value |
In addition:
- A new "Change" workflow will allow users to securely change the currently stored credential, without revealing it.
- A new "Compare" feature will allow users to confirm whether a given value matches the currently stored credential, without revealing it.
What does this mean for you?
Integrations will continue to function as expected, and no action is required. If you need to update a credential, you will enter a new value instead of viewing and modifying the existing one. If you are unsure of a saved credential, you can use the new 'Compare' feature to validate a known value against the stored credential.
Why we’re making this change
This update is part of Ocean's broader efforts to continuously enhance platform security.
