If you have declined a referral, you will receive an email notification about patient demographic updates.
However, any updates to patient demographics will not place the referral in your Needs Review folder, and you will not see a yellow flag for the declined referral at your site. The referral record itself is still updated, but only the current active recipient of the referral receives the corresponding Needs Review flag. This ensures that specialists who have declined a referral are not sent unnecessary updates or alerts.
