PS Suite Ocean Custom Form 3.38 Release Notes

The Ocean custom form 3.38 release is the first major custom form release that includes a few major changes:

  • Support for multiple Ocean sites in a particular PSS instance
  • Fixed some bugs around secure message receipt handling
  • Significant refactoring to improve performance
  • Improvements to eRequest import code reliability
  • Added ability to quickly remove all forms in a patient's queue
  • Comments are now pulled from the patient demographics, which is handy for tablet rules (you may need a new version of the Ocean Tablet app for full support.)
  • Support for "launch argument" to automatically preload a form when clicked on a PSS toolbar (see Ocean library for some examples, e.g. PHQ9&GAD7

PS Suite Ocean Custom Form 3.20 Release Notes

The Ocean custom form 3.20 adds compatibility with the current IST (advanced access) versions of PS Suite 5.4.600 and 5.4.601.

Telus is adding backwards compatibility for Ocean in 5.4.602 for general availability so we don't expect this upgrade to be required for PSS clients beyond the 10 IST clinics.

PS Suite Ocean Custom Form 3.12 Release Notes

PS Suite Ocean custom form 3.12 includes the following:

- initials for notes will now be OCN instead of Ocn (more consistent with PS Suite conventions)

- fix to custom patient handout download bug that sometimes caused note download to fail after handout was opened (e.g. with NutriSTEP handout)

PS Suite Ocean Custom Form 3.11 Release Notes

Version 3.11 of the PS Suite custom form has a number of important improvements from the previous 3.0.1 version:

- Now uploads immunization records for use in Tablet rules and EForm logic.

- Updates next appointment date/time, so it can be used with the nextApptDate/Time keywords in appointment reminders. (Consider adding this to your secure messages and web questionnaires, either in the email body or the secure message bodies for appointment reminders.)

- Added optional support for "Ocean patient reuse" so that a PSS patient will reuse an existing Ocean patient ref if one exists for that patient. This brings PS Suite in line with other EMR integrations in this respect, and should make it much easier to download notes for a patient with a lost custom form: no longer will you need to manually set the ref or "import" the old reference into the patient chart. At some future point, we will enable this option by default for all PS Suite sites.

- Skips some demographic change messages that were false-positives (i.e. no demographic fields actually updated).

- Some checks/guards against future PS Suite compatibility issues, including a setting to skip automatic download polling for older versions of the custom form.

- Fixes to Java 8 support in preparation for TELUS migrating clients to Java 8 runtimes.

PS Suite Ocean Custom Form 3.01 Release Notes

This version of the Ocean custom form fixes a popup error message that some clients were reporting, which resulted in the unwanted removal of the custom form. The error states that an outdated custom form was removed from the chart.

The error was triggered within a narrow timing window when changing patient charts. Version 3.01 now checks for this scenario and avoids removing itself in this circumstance.

PS Suite Ocean Custom Form 3.00 Release Notes (Beta)

This version of the Ocean custom form fixes issues in the interpretation of certain message codes from the Ocean server.

It also adds code to report certain error conditions to the server so that we can investigate issues, such as some of the compatibility issues in PSS 5.4.

It adds a fix to address a timing window in the checkout process in PS Suite that saw some clinics get locked out of charts when multiple people were accessing the chart that included Ocean. We are not 100% sure that this problem is resolved with this fix since we were unable to reproduce the problem in-house.

PS Suite Ocean Custom Form 2.94 Release Notes

Version 2.94 includes additional optimizations to minimize the time windows where Ocean needs to "check out" the chart in order to perform the necessary note downloads. These changes reduce the likelihood that two PS Clients viewing the same chart with an Ocean custom form will conflict with each other.

This version includes an advanced setting to turn off the automatic download of notes for all instances of forms with version 2.94 and above. This option is intended as a fail-safe option moving forward, to allow users to deactivate this feature in any circumstances where it may be exacerbating the chart concurrent-write "checkout" issue in PSS.

PS Suite Ocean Custom Form 2.93 Release Notes

This version works around an issue that emerged since PS 5.4 upgrade which caused the PS Suite chart to scroll down to the Ocean note periodically. Now the custom form will have no impact on chart scrolling.

Previous versions would also fail to update the displayed list of forms after a form is removed from the queue. The queue would display when a user left and returned to the chart. Now the display should be updated instantly.

PS Suite Ocean Custom Form 2.91 Release Notes

The v2.91 release of the PS Suite custom form is a minor update to 2.90 that takes the additional step of 'checking in' the chart after a successful note download. This step will minimize the amount of time that Ocean has the chart checked out, consequently reducing the number of 'checkout conflicts' that show disruptive 'Override' messages within PS Suite.

If you are running 2.84 or 2.87, you should upgrade to 2.91 immediately. If you are on v2.72 and PS Suite 5.3 ("Fox"), we recommend that you hold off on upgrading for a week or two as this is a stable combination.

PS Suite Ocean Custom Form 2.90 Release Notes

The v2.90 release of the PS Suite custom form addresses issues with checkout and concurrent access to charts containing the Ocean custom form. It also provides better visibility into the delivery of secure messages to patients (a new feature in beta).

If you are running 2.84 or 2.87, you should upgrade to 2.90 immediately. If you are on v2.72 and PS Suite 5.3 ("Fox"), we recommend that you hold off on upgrading for a week or two as this is a stable combination.

PS Suite Ocean Custom Form 2.87 Release Notes

This release addresses an issue that would cause PS Suite to freeze temporarily due to network issues. If you are on Ocean custom form 2.83 or higher, this version is strongly recommended to avoid such issues.

PS Suite Ocean Custom Form 2.83 Release Notes

This release supports the latest PS Suite version (Gazelle) as well as Java 8 (1.8) and the latest Javascript runtime engine (Nashorn).

In addition:

- There is a small bullet next to the tablet status which indicates that the form is polling for a status update from Ocean

- The form should be generally faster: The patient conversion and upload data transfer has been optimized as well as the steps necessary to ensure a successful download of patient data
