An Ocean eSubmission is a clinician-submitted form that supports the secure sending of Patient Health Information to a trusted third party/government receiver. Unlike eReferrals and eConsults, eSubmission forms are not intended to support a transfer of care. eSubmission forms can be accessed through the Ocean Healthmap or using a dedicated Website Form link.

Set Up Your Ocean Site to Receive eSubmissions
This article outlines the steps to set up your Ocean Site to receive eSubmissions.

Set Up Users with Ocean Accounts
Any user who is involved in managing eSubmissions in your Ocean Site will need their own individual Ocean user account.

Find or Add Your Clinic to the Ocean Provider Network
If your organization isn't already listed on the Ocean Healthmap, you will need to create a Directory Listing so that eSubmission senders can find you.

Claim Your Directory Listing to Your Ocean Site
Once your Directory Listing has been created on the Ocean Healthmap, you will need to claim it so that it is linked with your Ocean Site.
Once you've claimed your Directory Listing to your Ocean Site, please let us know by contacting the OceanMD Support Team so that we can validate your Directory Listing as a legitimate organization for accepting patient data.

Once your Directory Listing has been validated, you can update your Directory Listing settings.

You can optionally* enable automated appointment reminders for patients ahead of their booked appointment(s).

Supporting Analytics in eSubmission eForms*
Ocean provides core analytics automatically to help provide an understanding of eSubmission patterns, decline rates, etc. If you would like to optionally* set up your eSubmission form to collect additional custom analytic values, now is a good time to do so.

Set Up eSubmissions on Your Website*
Once you're set up to receive eSubmissions, you can optionally* choose to set up Website Forms on your website to accept eSubmissions from both your website and the Ocean Healthmap.

If you accepts walk-in patients, you can optionally* enable the "Accept Walk-In" features.
