Can I hide my Directory Listing's address on the Ocean Healthmap?

If the 'Will this listing accept eRequests?' setting in your Directory Listing Purpose is set to 'Yes', Ocean allows you to hide your Directory Listing’s address on the Ocean Healthmap using the 'Hide address on the Ocean Healthmap' setting and instead display a catchment area.

This setting is useful in cases where the listing address is not relevant to the patient or referring provider, such as a Directory Listing offering virtual services exclusively or a Central Intake. When enabled, the 'Distance' value measuring the distance from the patient's home address or the referrer's geolocation is also hidden.

Note: When the listing address is hidden in the Ocean Healthmap, the listing's address information will still be included in referral record PDFs and applicable email notifications.

Hiding your Listing Address

Prerequisites

  • You must have Site Admin access in your Ocean Site to modify your Directory Listing.
  • The 'Will this listing accept eRequests?' setting in your Directory Listing must be set to 'Yes'.
  • Log in to the Ocean Portal, open the 'Menu' and select 'Admin'.
  • Select 'Directory Listings'.
  • If your Ocean Site has multiple Directory Listings, select the relevant one using the dropdown menu.
  • In the 'Listing Information' tab of the Directory Listing, enable the 'Hide address on the Ocean Healthmap' setting within the 'Contact Information' section.
  • If your Directory Listing already has a catchment area configured, simply click 'Save' after enabling the setting.

If your Directory Listing does not already have a catchment area configured, you will be prompted to configure one. Click 'Specify catchment area' to continue.

  • Adjust the boundaries of the catchment area by dragging the white circles to define the shape of the area. You can move and zoom in or out of the map displayed on the screen.
  • Click 'Done' when you are satisfied with the shape of your catchment area.
  • Click the 'Save' button to save the changes made to your Directory Listing.
  • Search for and select your Directory Listing in the Ocean Healthmap to verify that the catchment area appears as expected and that your address information is hidden.

Note: Catchment areas with complex boundaries or overlapping areas may not always display as expected. If this is the case, please contact the OceanMD Support team for assistance.

Displaying your Listing Address

If your Directory Listing's address is currently hidden using the configuration described above and you would now like to display your listing address and remove the catchment area, follow the steps below:

  • Under the 'Service Details' section, click 'Specify catchment area'.
  • Click 'Remove Area' and then click 'Done'.
  • Click the 'Save' button to save the changes made to your Directory Listing.
  • Search for and select your Directory Listing in the Ocean Healthmap to verify that the catchment area has been removed and that your address information is displayed.
